5-Vehicle Winnetka Crash on Vanowen Street Leaves One Critically Injured

WINNETKA, Calif. (March 31, 2026) — A five-vehicle crash on Vanowen Street in Winnetka Saturday night left four people injured, including one in critical condition who had to be extricated from a vehicle.

The collision was reported on March 28th about 9:54 p.m. in the 20200 block of West Vanowen Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived to find multiple damaged vehicles and several patients. Crews worked to free a 40-year-old man who was trapped inside one of the vehicles; he was listed in critical condition.

One additional patient, whose age and gender were not immediately available, was reported in serious condition. Two others were assessed with injuries described as fair. All four patients were expected to be transported to local hospitals for treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Los Angeles Police Department is handling the investigation under incident number 3997.
