Man, 53, Killed in Gilroy Motorcycle Crash on Leavesley Road
GILROY (April 17, 2017)- According to the San Jose Mercury News, a 53-year-old unidentified motorcyclist was killed following a collision with a second vehicle Saturday evening.
At around 5:25 p.m., the 53-year-old man who is a resident of Gilroy was traveling eastbound on Leavesley Road on a 2007 Harley Davidson. As he approached the intersection of Holsclaw Road, the driver of a 2000 Ford Mustang, Gustavo Martinez, 22, of Gilroy, entered the intersection triggering a collision with the motorcyclist.
The man was transported to Regional Medical Center located in the city of San Jose where he tragically died of his injuries at the hospital.
Meanwhile, Martinez and his two passengers who had been accompanying him sustained minor injuries which were not bad enough to go to the hospital.
There was no indication that Martinez was under the influence as nothing about being under the influence was mentioned within the article.
California Highway Patrol officials will handle the investigation.
