6 Victims Hospitalized, Including 1 Airlifted
LEBEC, California (May 15, 2016) – Six were taken to the hospital, one flown, after a multi-vehicle collision on the Interstate 5 Freeway Sunday, according to The Santa Clarita Valley Signal. (map)
California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway, just south of Frazier Mountain Park Road.
As per the article, Los Angeles County Fire Department affirmed at least three vehicles were involved in the crash. One person appeared to have been ejected from one of the cars.
A total of six people were injured. One victim was airlifted to Henry Mayo Hospital while the five others were transported by ground ambulance to trauma centers for treatment.
The names and condition of the patients at this time were not disclosed.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
