LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 1, 2018) — A suspected DUI driver crashed into a shoe store and an Uber vehicle carrying four passengers on W. Melrose Avenue, according to a report by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Michael Steward Forno, 37, was arrested and charged with multiple criminal counts including DUI. He pleaded not guilty on Wednesday Jan. 3 and is due in court on Jan. 17 for a preliminary hearing in downtown Los Angeles, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
The victims were described as three women and three men who ranged in age from their early 20s to early 30s.
The collision took place about 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day in the 7400 block of W. Melrose Avenue. Four of the six people hurt in the crash were critically injured.
