Girl, 14, Critically Hurt after Driver Runs Red Light, Hits 2 Other Cars
The 3-vehicle crash took place at 10:34 a.m. Two cars were severely damaged upon impact.
As per the article, witnesses told police that the a pickup truck was going north on La Sierra approaching Norwood when the motorist ran a red light.
The truck then collided with two Honda sedans which were traveling through the intersection at the time. One was headed east while the other was driving west.
Police said a 17-year-old female driving one sedan sustained moderate injuries following the wreck. Her two passengers, a 49-year-old woman and 30-year-old man, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The other driver, an 18-year-old female, also suffered moderate injuries. A 14-year-old girl riding as her passenger was gravely injured while her other occupant, a 9-year-old girl, was treated for minor injuries.
Police affirmed that the 14-year-old victim was listed in critical but stable condition. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
