7 Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 16 in Willow Creek
6 Adults, 1 Child Injured in Car Accident on Highway 16
Amador County, Calif. (Jan. 10, 2024) — Seven people including a child were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night on Highway 16 in Willow Creek.
The Amador Fire Department sent firefighters and paramedics to the scene at around 8:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9th, according to Fox 40 News.
The fire department had to temporarily closed down Highway 16 so they could help the injured people from the collision.
Meanwhile, paramedics helped a total of six people with minor injuries and one with moderate injuries, but just two were taken to a hospital.
The roadway reopened to traffic by 9:22 p.m., police said.
Finally, traffic investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the crash on Highway 16 in Willow Creek.
Amador County Traffic Statistics
There were 275 injury and fatality collisions in Amador County in 2020, according to the most recent statistics compiled by the Office of Traffic Safety. Fifty of these collisions involved alcohol and 47 were speed related, the report said. The county ranks 12th among similar sized counties in California for it’s number of traffic injuries and fatalities.
Furthermore, the report states that 38 of the injury or fatality collisions involved a motorcyclist and eight involved a pedestrian.
