9 Injured in Head-on Crash on Highway 29, North of St. Helena

NAPA COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 6, 2026) — Nine people were injured and a driver was arrested following a head-on crash Saturday night on Highway 29, just north of St. Helena in Napa County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP, Cal Fire, and Napa County firefighters all responded around 6:10 p.m. on Oct. 3rd to help those involved after the traffic accident on State Route 29 near Ehlers Lane in the Napa Valley area.
Detectives determined a driver in a southbound Lucid Gravity allegedly crossed the center line and collided head-on into a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee. The two vehicles came to rest blocking traffic lanes on Highway 29, the CHP said.
Nine people were in the two vehicles, including three in the Lucid and five in the Jeep driver. They were all transported to local hospitals, including Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and Queen of the Valley Medical Center, for treatment of moderate to major injuries, police said.
Authorities working on the case determined the Lucid driver was under the influence of alcohol. The motorist was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of felony DUI, police said.
