91 West Freeway Car Accident Riverside, Thursday March 30
RIVERSIDE (March 30, 2017)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a major injury collision involving up to four vehicles was reported Thursday morning on the westbound 91 freeway near Mission Inn Avenue.
CHP reported the collision at 9:07 a.m. involving a Scion XB a semi-truck, a Silver Honda, and possibly another vehicle.
Authorities reported that the Scion XB was occupied by an elderly couple as their vehicle either was struck before careening into a cement wall or its driver lost control and struck the cement wall causing a domino effect collision.
The Riverside Fire Department arrived at the scene along with paramedics who assisted in transported at least two parties with serious injuries.
The Nos. 3 and 4 lanes also remained completely shut down for some time as tow trucks were required to remove at least two vehicles off the road.
No further details have been released at this time.
