Deadly Crash on 29 Palms Highway

JOSHUA TREE, Calif. (July 13, 2023) — A fatal truck versus car accident on Twentynine Palms Highway (62) happened Thursday morning in Joshua Tree.

The two-vehicle collision occurred around 9 a.m. on July 13th, near Rotary Way, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Fatal Joshua Tree Accident

A driver in a semi-truck and an unknown vehicle collided on State Route Highway 62, the report said.

An ambulance was passing by following the crash and stopped to help the injured people, but sadly at least one person died at the scene.

All traffic lanes were blocked by the collision and emergency responders. Caltrans closed down the eastbound lanes, but were working on reopening a westbound lane around 9:30 a.m.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the fatal Joshua Tree accident on Twentynine Palms Highway.
