Deadly Car Accident at Elgin and Christian Avenues

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (July 21, 2023) — A fatal crash on Highway 33 (Elgin Avenue) happened Thursday night at Christian Avenue in Dos Palos, Merced County.

The two-vehicle collision occurred in the southbound lane of State Route 33 around 9:49 p.m. on July 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It’s unknown at this time what led up to the accident. Also, there are no details provided about the two vehicles involved at this time.

CHP officials responded to the scene, along with paramedics, but sadly one person died following the traffic accident. It’s unknown how many others were injured in the collision at this time.

Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the fatal crash on Highway 33.

Finally, the roadway reopened to traffic at 12:25 a.m. on July 21st, the report said.
