Injury Accident on I-5 Freeway in Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2023) — At least one person was injured in a Carlsbad car accident Wednesday morning on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway.

The multi-vehicle crash occurred around 1:44 p.m. on Sept. 13th, near State Route 78 and Vista Way, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The drivers of a grey Toyota Corolla, a black Toyota, a Jeep and a silver SUV were among the vehicles involved in a collision. The report stated a silver SUV came “off the ramp and hit a Jeep that overturned.”

Paramedics responded and transported one injured person by ambulance to Scripps Medical Center in Encinitas.

Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
