Fatal Pedestrian Accident Pomona 60 Freeway in East Los Angeles

One Killed in Pedestrian Collision in East LA

EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2023) – A fatal pedestrian accident happened Thursday night on the Pomona (60) Freeway, just west of East Los Angeles.

The deadly collision occurred at around 11:20 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded to the scene and located the pedestrian down in traffic lanes on the westbound State Route 60 at Indiana Street, the CHP said.

The unidentified pedestrian sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the victim was struck by multiple cars, but it’s unknown why the person was on the freeway at this time.

CHP officials issued a SigAlert that they shut down multiple lanes of the 60 freeway to conduct an investigation into the pedestrian accident.
