Man Struck, Killed in Fresno Crash at Hospital

FRESNO, Calif. (Oct. 23, 2023) — A man in his 30s was injured in a pedestrian accident Saturday night on Maddy Drive near the entrance of Community Regional Medical Center.

The traffic accident occurred at around 10 p.m. on Oct. 21st, 2023, according to the Fresno Bee.

A driver in a white van traveling northbound on Maddy Drive reportedly turned left towards westbound Divisadero and hit the pedestrian, police said.

The pedestrian was crossing the roadway in a north to south direction at the time of the collision.

Some nurses from the hospital came to help the injured man and got him medical care inside the hospital.

He was listed in critical condition after the collision, police said.

Meanwhile, the driver involved stopped and was cooperating.

Investigators are working on the case, but added that the pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
