Long Beach Bus Crash into Boujie Crab Restaurant South Street
14 Injured in a Transit Bus Collision into Boujie Crab Restaurant
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Nov. 9, 2023) — Roughly 14 people were injured Thursday when a transit bus and car collided and both crashed into the Boujie Crab seafood restaurant on South Street in Long Beach.
The major injury crash occurred at around 3:17 p.m. on Nov. 9th, according to KTLA 5 News.
Investigators report the driver in the sedan was heading southbound on California Avenue when they allegedly drove through a posted stop sign at the intersection. The car then collided with the transit bus, causing both vehicles to crash into a two-story building and the Boujie Crab restaurant. The car was completely destroyed as it was pushed into the structure by the front of the bus.
The Long Beach Fire Department sent firefighters and paramedics to the scene of the crash to help those injured in the collision.
Paramedics transported 10 people to a hospital with minor to “critical-but-stable” injuries and four others treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Police closed down South Street for several hours to conduct an investigation.
