Driver Arrested After Pedestrian Killed in Crash

WILMINGTON, Calif. (Nov. 13, 2023) – A 41-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident at G Street and George De La Torre Jr. Avenue in Wilmington.

A driver struck the woman as she was walking in the area at around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and Fox 11 News.

The motorist was heading westbound on G Street when they struck the 41-year-old woman, the LAPD said.

Paramedics responded and rushed the injured woman to a hospital, but she later died from her injuries, according to the police report. Her identity will be released after relatives are notified.

Meanwhile, the driver involved stopped and police arrested the person on suspicion of driving under the influence, authorities said. The name, age and gender of the motorist was not released.
