2-Vehicle Collision on Ortega Highway in Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (Nov. 13, 2023) — A Lake Elsinore crash happened Monday morning on the Ortega Highway 74 near the Ortega Oaks Candy Store.

The two-vehicle crash happened about 6:20 a.m. on Nov. 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The drivers of a black Jeep and a white SUV were involved in the collision and blocking the westbound lanes of State Route 74, the report said. Both motorists were “shaken up” and “airbags were deployed,” according to the CHP report.

Cal Fire Riverside Fire Department responded with paramedics to help anyone injured, but there are no further details.

Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the roadway and police issued a SigAlert due to traffic being back up to El Carrizo.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the Ortega Highway 74 crash.
