Isleton Head-on, Hit-and-run Crash on Highway 12, Terminous Road
One Hospitalized After Head-on Collision in Isleton
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2023) — One person was injured Friday in a head-on crash involving a hit-and-run driver on Highway 12, just west of Terminous Road in Isleton.
The two-vehicle collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of State Route 12 at around 6:45 a.m. on Dec. 16th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a blue Mazda 6 and a pickup truck were involved in the collision in the South Sacramento area.
An occupant from the Mazda became trapped in their vehicle. The River Delta Fire District responded and extricated the person before they transported them to a hospital. The victim is being treated for moderate injuries, the CHP said.
Meanwhile, the driver from the pickup truck fled without stopping to help the other motorist or speak with police. It appears that the suspect may have left the truck behind as authorities requested two tow trucks.
The California Highway Patrol was at the scene of the crash and an investigation is underway.
