Man Struck, Killed on Cabrillo Hwy 1 Near Orcutt

ORCUTT, Calif. (Jan. 15, 2024) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Saturday afternoon on the southbound Cabrillo Highway 1, just south of Highway 135 near Orcutt on Central Coast.

The deadly crash occurred on State Route 1 at around 5:01 p.m. on Jan. 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.

A driver in a gray Toyota Camry sedan reported struck the victim in the roadway due to unknown circumstances. The adult male motorist pulled over to the right shoulder and called 911 for help.

Paramedics with the Santa Barbara Fire Department responded to help the injured pedestrian, but unfortunately the man died at the scene.

The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office responded to assist the CHP in the investigation into the Orcutt accident on Highway 1.
