Apple Valley Man, 55, Identified as Crash Victim
APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (Jan. 16, 2024) — Brian Dean Johnson, 55, of Apple Valley, died last Thursday in a pedestrian accident on US Highway 18 at Pawnee Road in Apple Valley.
The deadly crash occurred at around 6:05 p.m. on Thursday, January 11th, 2024, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner.
The Sheriff’s Department responded to the 21900 block of US Highway 18 at Pawnee Road after a 911 call about a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
Authorities say a man driving an eastbound black Toyota Tacoma pickup truck struck the victim and threw him into the path of a silver Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, Victor Valley News reports. The second pickup truck, driven by a man, also struck the victim in the roadway.
Apple Valley Fire Department paramedics responded and Brian Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene just minutes after the collision at 6:12 pm.
Both motorists stopped and neither one of them reported injuries.
