Woman, 87, Hospitalized After 2-Vehicle Car Accident
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Jan. 22, 2024) — An elderly woman was injured in a crash Sunday afternoon at Camino Del Norte and Paseo Montanoso in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at around 1:11 p.m. on Jan. 21st, according to the Times of San Diego.
Driver Allegedly Runs Red Light
A 24-year-old man ran in a 2017 Honda was heading eastbound on Camino Del Norte when he allegedly drove through a red light at the intersection. The driver hit a 2024 Toyota whose 57-year-old driver was making a left-hand turn onto Paseo Montanoso, according to the San Diego Police Department;.
Paramedics responded and found an 87-year-old woman riding as a passenger in the Toyota with serious injuries. She was transported by ambulance to a hospital to be treated for a fractured pelvis, rib fractures and a fractured sternum, police said.
Finally, there were no other injuries reported at the scene of the crash.
