Car Accident on Highway 152 Near Romero Visitor Center in Gustine

Major Injury Crash on State Route Highway 152

GUSTINE, Calif. (Feb. 8, 2024) — A major injury car accident on the westbound Highway 152 near the Romero Visitor Center happened Thursday morning in Gustine.

The drivers of a white SUV and a pickup truck collided at around 8:27 a.m. on Feb. 8th near the San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.

One of the two vehicles crashed into a guardrail in the center divide and overturned before landing back on its wheels.

Paramedics responded and requested an air ambulance to transport at least one person with major injuries to a hospital.

A third driver reported debris from the crash hit their vehicle. Also, roughly 20 feet of the guardrail was damaged and both vehicles were towed from the crash scene.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the Gustine accident on Highway 152.
