Deadly, Hit-and-run Pedestrian Crash on I-80

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (March 11, 2024) — A fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened in San Francisco Monday morning on the Interstate 80 Freeway, just east of 4th Street.

The deadly crash occurred on the westbound I-80 at around 1:35 a.m. on March 11th, just west of the Bay Bridge entrance, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A driver reportedly struck the pedestrian and then they fled the scene. Paramedics responded to the scene to help the victim, but they died before they could be taken to a hospital.

Authorities do not have a description of the suspect’s vehicle at this time.

Investigators are working on the case and they closed down the road for several hours.
