Jessica Hargrove Fatal Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on Cottonwood Road

Bakersfield Woman, 34, ID’d as Crash Victim

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (March 18, 2024) — Jessica Lauren Hargrove, 34, of Bakersfield, has been identified as the woman who died in a pedestrian accident Thursday night on Cottonwood Road, near East Pacheco Road in southeast Bakersfield.

A driver in a white pickup truck struck the woman as she crossed the northbound lanes in an eastbound direction in the 4700 block of Cottonwood Road, Bakersfield Now reports.

The collision occurred at around 7:53 p.m. on March 14th, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

Bakersfield police reported the woman sustained major injuries and died at the crash scene. She was later identified as Jessica Hargrove by the Kern County Sheriff Coroner.

Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver stopped and cooperated with traffic investigators.

The collision happened in a dark area where there are no marked crosswalks.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the pedestrian accident on Cottonwood Road.
