Major Injury Collision on Highway 101

SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. (June 11, 2024) — A major injury crash happened Tuesday on southbound Highway 101, Tassajara Creek Road in Santa Margarita.

The multi-vehicle collision occurred at around 8:51 a.m. on June 11th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a red Toyota Camry and at least one other motorist were involved in the collision and “heavy debris” was scattered in the No. 1 lane.

Patient Suffering Major Injuries Rescued

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies responded, along with paramedics to help those injured. Cal Fire officials reported one person was still in their vehicle and conscious, but they were initially unable to reach the woman.

Emergency rescue crews eventually rescued the woman and transported her to a hospital with major injuries, but there are no further details at this time.

Also, animal Control responded to remove a small injured dog in a cage and take them to the shelter for medical care.

Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Highway 101 in Santa Margarita.
