Fatal Crash Highway 273 at Happy Valley Road near Anderson

2 Killed, 1 Injured in Crash on State Route 273

ANDERSON, Calif. (July 11, 2024) — Two people are dead and a third injured after a solo crash Thursday on Highway 273 at Happy Valley Road in the Anderson area.

The fiery crash occurred at 1:34 a.m. Thursday morning on July 11th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Shasta County Fire sent paramedics to the scene and located three people with major injuries.

One of the two passengers died at the scene. A second passenger, identified as Daniel Bishop, was treated for major injuries including a broken leg at a hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle died shortly after the collision at Mercy Hospital.

The names of the two people who died will be released by the Shasta County Coroner’s Office after relatives are notified.

The case remains under investigation.
