Motorcyclist Killed in Traffic Accident on I-215 Freeway

Riverside, Calif. (Nov. 20, 2024) — A deadly Riverside motorcycle accident happened Wednesday afternoon on the southbound Interstate 215 Freeway near Center Street.

The collision occurred around 3 p.m. on Nov. 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Caltrans closed down the off ramp and issued a SigAlert following the accident.

The motorcyclist went down in the HOV lane and the initial report stated no other vehicles were involved. However, the post was later updated and stated a semi-truck was possibly involved.

Paramedics from Cal Fire Riverside responded and confirmed the rider’s death at the scene. The family later identified the rider as Jose Lucero and they have a Gofundme account to raise money for his funeral expenses.

Investigators are working to determine what led to the crash and liability.
