Fremont Crash Interstate 880 Freeway, Auto Mall Parkway (Jan. 17)

Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-880 in Fremont

FREMONT, Calif. (Jan. 17, 2025) — A multi-vehicle crash in Fremont on the Interstate 880 Freeway happened Friday morning near Auto Mall Parkway.

The traffic collision occurred on the southbound I-880 at 6:54 a.m. on Jan. 17th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Five motorists were involved including the drivers of a grey Nissan, a red Hyundai, and a maroon Toyota Camry were involved and blocking the freeway’s Nos. 1, 2, and 3 lanes.

It’s unknown what caused the collision that left the Toyota with major front and rear-end damage and the other vehicles had major front-end damage.

Paramedics responded to help at least one person in the Nissan who required medical attention for possible injuries to their nose.

Meanwhile, tow trucks removed the Hyundai, the Toyota, and the Nissan from the roadway.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on the 880 Freeway in Fremont.
