San Jose Motorcycle Crash on I-680 Freeway Causes Major Delays
Tesla Versus Motorcycle Collision on Interstate 680 Freeway in San Jose
San Jose, CA (Feb. 25, 2025) – A San Jose motorcycle crash happened Tuesday morning on southbound I-680 Freeway, just north of the Mission Boulevard (SR-238) interchange.
The drivers of the red motorcycle and a blue Tesla Model Y were involved. The crash, which occurred at approximately 10:43 a.m., caused significant traffic as multiple lanes were blocked while emergency responders worked to clear the scene.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the motorcycle rider was found reportedly lying in the second lane. The rider sustained injuries and awaiting medical help.
By 10:56 AM, CHP confirmed that the fire department had responded to the scene and was working to manage the aftermath. While traffic was heavily impacted, tow services were arranged, and by 11:18 AM, all lanes were cleared and open.
One motorist provided dash camera footage to assist investigators in determining the cause of the accident and liability.
Fortunately, the driver of the Tesla SUV did not suffer any serious injuries, though they were likely shaken by the incident. The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
Also, the collision caused delays for over an hour and motorists were advised to find alternate routes as crews worked to clear the scene.
Finally, the investigation into the motorcycle crash on the I-680 Freeway continues and authorities are urging anyone with information or additional footage from the incident to come forward.
