Fatal San Francisco Pedestrian Accident Interstate 280, Geneva Avenue
Tragic Car Accident on I-280 Freeway in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (March 4, 2025) — An alleged DUI driver struck and killed a pedestrian early Monday in a car accident on the southbound Interstate 280 Freeway in San Francisco.
The deadly crash occurred around 12:10 a.m. on March 3th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers received a dispatch reporting a yellow taxi pulled over on the right shoulder. A 26-year-old man driving a gray Nissan Sentra reportedly struck the taxi and exited his vehicle near the Geneva Avenue on-ramp.
The man was reportedly was walking in the southbound traffic lanes when an oncoming Chevrolet Cruze hit him in the roadway.
The victim was down in traffic lanes and two other vehicles pulled over to help those involved. Paramedics from the San Francisco Fire Department confirmed the victim’s death.
Meanwhile, police investigating the crash determined the 33-year-old man driving the Chevrolet was allegedly drunk driving. The man was arrested and booked into San Francisco County Jail.
