Fatal Placentia Rollover Crash 57 Freeway, Orangethorpe Avenue
Pickup and Jeep Collide on SR-57 in Placentia
PLACENTIA, Calif. (March 20, 2025) — A fatal Placentia rollover crash happened Thursday morning on the northbound 57 Freeway, just north of Orangethorpe Avenue.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on SR-57 at around 4:06 a.m. on March 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a white Jeep and a white Ford F-150 pickup truck collided due to unknown circumstances. The Jeep overturned and was facing the wrong way and the white work truck was blocking the slow lane.
Police issued a SigAlert due to the crash for roughly 30 minutes. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed the death of at least one person trapped in the overturned Jeep. It appears that a second person from the Jeep was assisted by a good Samaritan and awaited paramedics in their car, but there are no further details.
Authorities closed down all traffic lanes due to the crash. Tow trucks removed both vehicles for evidence and the freeway reopened at 6:10 a.m., the report said.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the Placentia crash on the 57 Freeway.
