Austin Fett Killed in Long Beach Motorcycle Crash at Woodruff Avenue
Two Killed in Long Beach Vehicle-Motorcycle Crash
LONG BEACH, Calif. (March 25, 2025) – Austin Patrick Fett, 28, of Lakewood, is one of two who died in a motorcycle versus car accident Sunday at Woodruff Avenue and Wardlow Road in Long Beach.
Police responded to the two-vehicle collision at the intersection around 7:35 p.m. on March 23rd, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Austin Fett was riding a 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle northbound on Woodruff Avenue when an oncoming driver in a 2006 Toyota Highlander made a left-hand turn into his path towards eastbound Wardlow Road.
The Lakewood man’s motorcycle crashed into the Highlander and he suffered major injuries and died on scene. Meanwhile, a passenger in the SUV also suffered fatal injuries. This person has not been identified.
The driver of Highlander survived and was taken to a local hospital, but that person’s condition was not released.
Investigators working on the case do not suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash, but factors contributing to the crash are under investigation.
