POMONA, Calif. (April 7, 2025) – Jose Cervantes Garcia, 26, died in a pedestrian hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning at Philadelphia and Palomares streets in Pomona.

Police responded to the crash site around 3:10 a.m. on April 6th, according to the Pomona Police Department.

Authorities located the unhoused man, identified as 26-year-old Jose Cervantes Garcia, in the roadway suffering from severe injuries, police said.

Paramedics pronounced the young man dead at the scene.
