CASTROVILLE: Car Accident Cabrillo Highway 1, Molera Road

Transit Van, Car Involved in Collision on Highway 1

CASTROVILLE, Calif. (April 9, 2025) — A white transit van reportedly rear-ended a car Wednesday in an accident on Cabrillo Highway 1 and Molera Road, just north of Thistle Hut Grocery.

The two-vehicle collision occurred around 12:39 p.m. on April 9th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials were alerted to the crash by an iPhone from one of the occupants. Police responded and found a white van was blocking northbound State Route 1 and the black Toyota Crown sedan went off the roadway into a nearby field.

Paramedics responded to assist those hurt including some juveniles who were riding in the transit van, the report said.

It’s unknown if anyone was hospitalized following the crash, however, tow trucks removed both vehicles.
