SUV Hits Man in Fatal Collision on White Lane

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (April 9, 2025) — A man is dead after he was struck by an SUV in a pedestrian accident on White Lane this past Tuesday night in Bakersfield.

The Bakersfield Police Department reported the collision around 8:25 p.m. on April 8, 2025, at the intersection of White Lane and El Potrero Lane, KGET reports.

A driver in a red Jeep SUV was traveling east on White Lane and struck the victim as he was crossing the roadway in a southbound direction outside of a marked crosswalk.

The driver of the Jeep stopped following the collision and cooperated with the investigation.

Investigators working on the case stated they do not suspect excessive speed and or impairment were factors for the driver.
