Fatal Calabasas Crash Ventura 101 Freeway, Mureau Road
One Person Dead, One Arrested on DUI Charges
CALABASAS, Calif. (April 11, 2025) – A fatal Calabasas crash involving an SUV and sedan Friday morning on the Ventura (101) Freeway left one person dead and another injured.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at 2:01 a.m. on April 11th in the southbound lanes of the Ventura Freeway, just south of Mureau Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 19-year-old driver in a gray Buick SUV reportedly veered to the right and slammed into the back of a Kia parked on the shoulder, according to the CHP.
Police officers and paramedics responded to the scene and located two people from the Kia vehicle with serious injuries. They were both transported by ambulance to a hospital in Los Robles, but the driver was pronounced dead at Los Robles Regional Medical Center at 4:48 a.m.
CHP officials did not release the condition of the occupants from the other vehicle.
However, the 19-year-old driver of the Buick has been arrested on suspicion of murder and felony DUI, according to the CHP.
Finally, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
