Multi-Vehicle Collision Slows Traffic on I-80 in Pinole
Pinole, CA (April 14, 2025) — A three-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 80 Freeway near the Appian Way off-ramp in Pinole disrupted traffic Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash was reported at approximately 8:07 a.m. on April 14th, the CHP said.
The drivers involved included a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, a white Mitsubishi Lancer sedan, and a black Jeep. The vehicles were initially blocking the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes of traffic, causing significant delays for commuters.
Emergency medical services were requested, and at least one person sustained minor injuries. However, another party involved declined medical transport, and one of the vehicles was reported to be drivable.
By 8:35 a.m., the Appian Way off-ramp had been reopened, and the incident was cleared from CHP and Freeway Service Patrol logs shortly after.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision. No arrests or citations have been reported at this time. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously through high-traffic corridors, especially during peak commuting hours.
