Major Injury Crash Slows Traffic on Northbound US 101 in Prunedale

Prunedale, CA – April 14, 2025 — A major injury car accident involving two vehicles disrupted traffic on northbound US Highway 101 near Prunedale South Road late Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The incident began as a minor crash, but was later upgraded to a major injury collision around 11:35 a.m. on April 14th, the CHP said.

A white pickup truck and a large white van were involved, with one vehicle sustaining a flat tire and coming to rest on the right shoulder. A tire was also reported in the middle of the lanes, contributing to the hazard.

Emergency crews, including fire and ambulance services, responded to the scene. It’s unknown at this time how many people were injured in total.

California Tow was called to assist with vehicle removal, and lanes were cleared shortly before 10:00 a.m.

Motorists experienced delays in the area, but traffic flow has since returned to normal.

CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
