Wrong-Way Driver Andrew Fierro Dies in Crash | Three Others Injured
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 21, 2025) – Three people were injured when a wrong-way driver crashed into their car on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway near downtown Los Angeles.
The two-vehicle crash occurred about 5:25 a.m. on Sunday, April 21st, on the westbound I-10 freeway, just east of San Pedro Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Andrew Fierro, 28, identified by the coroner, was driving a Honda Civic eastbound in the westbound lanes, the report said.
The lone driver’s car collided head-on into a Toyota Sienna occupied by three people, the CHP report said.
Paramedics pronounced the wrong-way driver’s dead on the scene. Meanwhile, medical crews requested ambulances to transport all three people from the Toyota to hospitals due to major injuries, the CHP said.
The deadly collision remains under investigation.
