Injury Collision Interstate 8 Freeway in El Cajon

El Cajon, CA (April 24, 2025) — A four-vehicle crash Wednesday morning caused traffic disruptions and left at least one person with injuries on the westbound Interstate 8 Freeway near Mollison Avenue.

The multi-vehicle collision occurred just before 11:30 a.m. on April 24th, involving a white Tesla and a gray Mazda CX-5, along with two other vehicles. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash initially blocked the No. 3 lane, but the roadway was cleared shortly afterward.

Paramedics responded to help those injured, but it’s unknown if anyone was hospitalized.

One of the vehicles, the Mazda CX-5, was undriveable. The vehicle was towed from the scene by C & D Tow. At least one vehicle came to rest on the right-hand shoulder.

CHP updated the incident from “unknown injuries” to “minor injuries” around 12:16 p.m., and no major delays were reported following the clearing of the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
