Deadly Crash on I-880 Freeway in Fremont

Fremont, Calif. (April 25, 2025) – A fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Fremont early Friday on the northbound Interstate 880 Freeway, just south of the Mowry Avenue off ramp.

The deadly collision occurred on Nimitz Freeway around 1:40 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.

CHP officials reported a driver in a blue 2012 Chevy Silverado pickup truck struck the pedestrian in the roadway.

Meanwhile, the victim may have been struck by a second pickup truck as police reported there were two pickups on the right shoulder of I-880.

The age, gender, and identity of the victim was not released, pending notification of their next of kin.

Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the pedestrian accident on the Nimitz I-880 Freeway in Fremont.
