Matthew McMahon, Rasheed Bledsoe Killed in Fiery Claremont Crash
CLAREMONT, Calif. (May 1, 2025) – Matthew McMahon, 38. and Rasheed Bledsoe, 52, both died in a fiery Tesla crash into a tree early Monday on East Sixth Street in Claremont.
Double Fatality Collision on East Sixth Street
The deadly collision occurred around 2:10 a.m. on April 28th near Mills Avenue, according to the Claremont Police Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.
The vehicle, a Tesla electric vehicle, reportedly went off the roadway due to unknown circumstances and struck a tree, bursting into flames upon impact.

Emergency responders arrived and pronounced the driver dead and located a passenger after the flames were extinguished. Matthew McMahon and Rasheed Bledsoe were identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, but it’s unknown who was the driver. KTLA reported a witness saw the vehicle possibly speeding before it crashed.
Furthermore, a hazardous materials team had to respond to handle the vehicle fire due to the lithium batteries.
The investigation into the Claremont crash on Sixth Street is ongoing.
