Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Overturned Truck Shuts Down Lanes on I-5 in Stockton

Stockton, CA (May 13, 2025) — A major traffic collision involving four vehicles, including an overturned box truck, brought northbound Interstate 5 Freeway traffic to a standstill near the Country Club Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The incident, reported at 8:48 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13th, occurred just south of the Country Club Boulevard exit and involved a cargo van, a box truck, and two small sedans — identified as a Chevrolet Camaro and a Chevrolet Cruze. Initial reports from CHP dispatch indicated that the box truck overturned, blocking the first three lanes of traffic and causing significant delays in the area.

Emergency services, including Stockton Fire Department and multiple tow companies, responded to the scene. Tow trucks were dispatched for the involved vehicles, including a medium-duty unit for the overturned truck and rotation tows for both sedans, which sustained major front-end and side damage.

No information has been released yet on injuries or the cause of the collision. Authorities were working to clear the scene and reopen lanes as of mid-morning. Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes while the investigation and cleanup continued.

The CHP is leading the investigation into the crash.
