Fatal Pedestrian Accident Florence and Towne Avenues in South LA

Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision in South Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 16, 2025) — A fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened at Florence and Towne Avenues early Friday morning in South Los Angeles.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. on May 16th in the Green Meadows area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. A vehicle traveling eastbound on Florence Avenue struck a woman as she was walking in the area.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the unidentified woman dead at the scene.

The driver fled without stopping to provide aid, police said. No description of the suspect vehicle has been released.

The LAPD’s Central Traffic Division is leading the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.
