Deadly Collision on Southbound 101 in San Jose
SAN JOSE, Calif. (May 19, 2025) — A fatal San Jose pedestrian accident happened early Monday morning on southbound Highway 101, just south of Oakland Road.
The deadly collision occurred in the number three lane around 5 a.m. on May 19th, east of the I-880 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a white Toyota was on the right shoulder with its hazard lights on and all traffic lanes came to a stop.
The San Jose Fire Department responded with an ambulance to help the victim, but unfortunately, the person died at the scene. The age, gender, and identity of the person who died was not released, pending notification of their next of kin.
Meanwhile, investigators from the San Jose Police Department are working on the case to find out what happened and determine fault.
