SANTA BARBARA: Two-Vehicle Crash at North Turnpike Road and Calle Real

Minor Injury Collision at Intersection in Santa Barbara
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2025) — A two-vehicle traffic collision resulted in minor injuries Monday morning at North Turnpike Road and Calle Real in Santa Barbara, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported on Jan. 5th around 7:16 a.m., and vehicles were stopped in the intersection with at least one occupant possibly trapped. CHP logs later identified the collision as involving a Chevrolet Yukon and a Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Responding officers reported there were minor injuries involved shortly after 7:30 a.m. Authorities reported that both parties were able to exit their vehicles and relocate to a nearby Shell gas station.
Tow services were requested for both vehicles, and CHP coordinated with rotation tow providers to clear the scene. No lane closures were reported for an extended period, and traffic impacts appeared to be minimal.
No information was immediately released regarding the number of people injured or the cause of the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
