Two-Vehicle Crash on I-10 Freeway Near Cabazon Dinosaurs

CABAZON, Calif. (April 6, 2026) — Several people were injured in a car accident Monday afternoon on the Interstate 10 Freeway near the Cabazon Dinosaurs, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
The crash was reported on April 6th around 1:28 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-10 at mile marker 20. Initial reports indicated a Chrysler Pacifica collided with another vehicle, possibly a red SUV or van, with one vehicle ending up in the center divider.
Emergency crews, including Cal Fire, responded to the scene and temporarily shut down the No. 1 lane while assisting victims and clearing debris.
Authorities said at least two people were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with complaints of back and neck pain. Additional occupants were evaluated at the scene, with reports indicating there were four children inside one of the vehicles at the time of the crash.
A black Chevrolet Tahoe involved in the collision was disabled in the center divider and required towing.
The extent of all injuries remains unclear, but none were immediately reported as life-threatening.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
