Tahoe City Motorcycle Accident Highway 89, Sequoia Avenue

TAHOE CITY, Calif. (May 11, 2026) — A major injury motorcycle accident happened Monday afternoon in Tahoe City on Highway 89 at Sequoia Avenue in Placer County.

The two-vehicle traffic accident occurred around 3:17 p.m. on May 11th, in front of the Sunnyside Restaurant, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A motorcyclist reportedly crashed into the back of a stopped vehicle and was seriously injured, the report said.

Paramedics responded and located the injured rider sitting on the side of the roadway. An ambulance transported the person to a hospital for treatment of major injuries, but there are no further details.

Traffic investigators with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office are working to determine fault for the motorcycle accident on Highway 89.
