Tesla Driver Hits Person, Then Crashes into Tree

SACRAMENTO, CA (June 5, 2026) — A driver in a black Tesla reportedly collided with another vehicle, then hit a pedestrian on Florin Road in Sacramento on Friday afternoon. The vehicle also crashed into a tree, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs.

The two-vehicle crash was reported on June 5th at approximately 12:35 p.m. at the intersection of Florin Road and Bowling Drive.

Initial reports indicated a black or gray Tesla collided with a pedestrian or possibly a person riding a bicycle before crashing into a tree. Emergency callers told dispatchers they did not witness the actual impact but saw the damaged vehicle and the victim lying in the roadway.

By approximately 12:40 p.m., CHP logs indicated the pedestrian remained conscious and breathing as emergency responders worked at the scene. A responding officer reported the Tesla had come to rest northbound on Bowling Drive following the collision.

Tow services were later requested to remove the damaged vehicle from the intersection.

Authorities have not released details about the cause of the crash; however, the pedestrian was transported to Kaiser South in unknown condition. It remains unclear whether the incident involved a pedestrian, bicyclist, or both, as dispatch information contained conflicting reports.

The crash remains under investigation.
