Man, 91, Struck and Killed in Crash on Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
MARIN COUNTY, Calif., (June 16, 2026) — A 91-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard east of Shadow Creek Court on Tuesday evening in the Oak Manor area of Fairfax in Marin County.
The tragic incident occurred on June 16th at approximately 6:44 p.m., when the pedestrian was hit by a westbound white Volkswagen Passat at the intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol incident log.
The 22-year-old Marinez man driving the vehicle stopped and authorities were contacted.
Responding units arrived at the scene shortly after the collision, confirming the fatality at 7:03 p.m. Emergency responders had been dispatched to the location promptly, but the male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries.
The roadway was closed in both directions as authorities conducted their investigation. The specifics of the vehicle involved in the collision have not been disclosed at this time.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. Emergency personnel and investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with information.
