Major Injury Bicycle Accident San Andreas Road in La Selva Beach

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif., (June 30, 2026) — A major injury crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle occurred Tuesday morning at San Andreas Road and Zils Road in La Selva Beach.

The incident was reported on June 30th at approximately 7:32 a.m. when a vehicle reportedly collided with a bicycle, resulting in significant injuries to the cyclist. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) initially categorized the incident as a traffic collision requiring immediate medical response before updating it to a major injury incident.

Emergency services were dispatched, with units arriving at the scene by 7:49 a.m. The collision site was located near Zils Road, approximately a quarter mile south of the intersection, according to reports from the responding officers. Initial details indicated that the cyclist’s condition was unknown shortly after the collision as the reporting party had to leave the scene.

The identity of the injured cyclist has not been disclosed at this time. Paramedics provided medical attention on-site before transporting the individual to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
